I’m just posting some happy stuff. Sometimes I struggle to write because of emotional overwhelm at the state of the world and the fact that I’m powerless. (Frequently bedfast and alone except for my cat.)
Here’s a video. “The Christmas Beast.”
A humorous Christmas story written by my father and read by me.

A Visit from Cousin Mary is an inspiring yet sobering look at the Incarnation. The infertile sixty something Elisabeth miraculously becomes pregnant just after her husband the high priest is smitten mute by a vision in the temple. Great things are in store for their coming son, John, she learns from her husband’s scrawling. But he will point the way to One greater still.
A few months later, her much younger unwed cousin Mary from Galilee shows up for a visit. From the disruption in her womb and the Holy Ghost, Elisabeth knows Mary is already pregnant through a miracle. With no human father, the young virgin has conceived and is expecting the One John is to prepare a way for.
While rejoicing over God’s plan for their unborn infants, both mothers know how risky it was for Mary to agree to become mother to the Messiah. Will anyone believe her? What will her fiancé, Joseph, do? In that time, women who broke betrothal pledges could be stoned.

Merry Christmas!
Reminds me of when we were children. My brother, sisters and myself would put on a silent play of the wisemen coming to see the baby Jesus in the manger for our parents.
I am taking a break as well to talk to my cat. He is one of my few friends that is on the same page as myself.
Merry Christmas RE and thanks for sharing this poem with us all.
